Test your mic before the show, not during it

A new mic and speaker tester lets crew check their audio before they join. Plus a space layout editor and quicker access to the spaces you use most.

Test your mic before the show, not during it

Nothing derails a pre-show check quite like a camera op whose microphone was never working in the first place. This release is aimed squarely at that problem.

Check your audio before you join

There’s now a mic and speaker tester built in. Crew can confirm their microphone is picking up and their speaker is playing back, complete with a live audio meter, before they land in the space.

It’s a small thing that saves a familiar conversation. Rather than “say something, can anyone hear them?”, people arrive already knowing their kit works.

We’ve also slowed the audio meter’s response down a little. The old one reacted so quickly it was hard to read at a glance, and a meter you have to squint at isn’t much use.

Arrange the space your way

The new space layout editor lets you arrange a space to suit the way you actually work. A director and a camera op want different things in front of them, and now they can have it.

Straight back to where you were

spacecommz.io now remembers your recent spaces, so getting back into the one you were in a moment ago takes a click rather than a hunt through the list.

Rounding things out, the mic and speaker selection modal opens reliably again, and audio from the mic test is no longer recorded.

Updates land automatically. Open your space and you’re on the latest version.
